Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar Peerwani is a politician from Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. He is Deputy Convener and Parliamentary leader of the political party MQM. He has also served as Provincial Minister in the Sindh Cabinet for Local Bodies and is one of the senior Members of the MQM Co-Ordination Committee. Dr Farooq Sattar was also heading Foreign Relations Committee in the Senate.
On 16 March 2008, he was nominated as a candidate for the seat of the Prime Minister of Pakistan by the MQM.
Education
He received his degree in medicine MBBS from Sindh Medical College in 1986.
Personal life
He resides in Pir Ilahi Buksh Colony in Gulshan Town of Karachi.

MQM
When political party MQM was formed, he joined alongwith other APMSO leaders, and to date he holds the position of Deputy Convener in this party. He is also a senior Members of the MQM Co-Ordination Committee and the parliamentarian leader of MQM in national assembly.
Mayorship of Karachi
In 1987, he was elected mayor of Karachi, and held the office until 1992. At the age of 28, he was the youngest man to hold this position.
National Politics
In 1988, while still the mayor of Karachi, he was elected as a member of National Assembly until its dissolution in 1990. He was then reelected in 1990
