Given the hold of feudal-clan system on majority of the voters, power capture by the landowning elite and Military establishment, the absence of a critical mass of a middle class, a major part of population being illiterate and poor, and absence of a civil rights movement, can change come from the bottom?

Dear Dr. Sahib , I am a teacher and concerned about syllabus for science students at the F.Sc level. My concren is: why should urdu be taught at the F.sc level when teaching it upto tenth class is enough for communication ( as ligua franca ) in Pakistan. It was introduced as a compulsory subject in the beginning because we thought all knowledges of the world will one day be translated into urdu and after that urdu will be used as medium of instruction instead of english. I think you will agree that this project has failed. Moreover, english cannot be beaten even by german and french in terms of english capacity as medium of information and instruction. My point is that if we drop urdu from the syllabus at the inter level for science students we will create space for one more subject. This subject will be math for pre-medical students and biology for pre-engineering students. In the 21st century our scientist must know both biology and math which is not the case in the present syllabus. Could you acknowledge this email and let me know about your views on this subejct Fida, Ph.D in chemistry Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute for Engineering sciences & technology Topi-Swabi

ُPlease ask Dr. Peerzada to exclude politicians from highly technological discussions. These people do not understand that making a nuc is different than building nuclear power plants. I am a chemical engineer and completed a number of projects in the USA and Europe for past 40 years. I have worked on at least thirty technologies. If someone asks me to to develop Gold extraction then I would decline because I do not have expertise in this area. With due respect to all scientists in Pakistan, let the investment come even if the companies want 100% share for a limited time. China gives majority share to DuPont if it brings in investment and technology.

I am a scientist with the ability to perform a simple experiment which will change the history of molecular biology forever. I have been rather rudely rejected by American and Israeli scientists. I have been seriously thinking of approaching U. Amman in Jordan. If you would like to see the eyes of the whole world on Jordan -- FOR SCIENCE -- and if you think you can be of assistance in introducing me to the right people, I thank you in advance for your help.

Dr. Farrukh, I just heard you in one of the talk shows and I can not tell you that how happy I was to hear what you said. I know that what ever you are saying is not a popular or favorite in Pakistan but it is based upon truthfullness , logic, and intellect. I wish you all the best, and I hope that our Pakistan will change and will be a very peaceful, educated, and vibrant country. I hope one day it will stand tall among the civilized world.
