Dr. Shahib is one of the most influential among pakistani analysts whose spirit is reflecting in his books, articles and research materials. I love his writing for its impartiality and decency in comprehension. He is valuable asset of Pakistan and personally i regard him as the most pristine writer and analyst.

I produce/present a history/current affairs program for ABC Radio National in Australia – a network similar in style and content to NPR in the USA. I am putting together a program about the history of the conflict in Kashmir and was wondering if you might be willing to talk with me. I would need about 30-35 mins of your time and I would like to cover the politics of the dispute from the time of Partition in 1947 through to the current day. I would need to do the interview either later this week or in the beginning of next week – I realise that this is short notice. I look forward to hearing from you. Sir Good Evening Thursday 23rd April 09 Karachi Amidst the grim reading of Aryn Baker about the advance of the Talibans on Islamabad we read yr statement that the Army would be the main impediment of the Talibans advancing on the capital with some disbelief.U don't wait for the enemy to come to 65 mils of the capital there is an outer red zone of 2-300 miles. The general opinion is that the Mushaarraf regime for political reason carried out an appeasement policy vis a vis the Talibans especially in Swat(read Khalid Aziz's articles) and u gave Pakistan space to the group of tribal religious fanatics who are forcing their brand of Wahibism on Pakistan. The present Political and Military leadership is continuing with this appeasement policy and it will lead to the collapse of Pakistan-space is too short here to explain in detail Pakistan's counter insurgency tatics will be taught in military academies worldwide as how not to fight no one fights an inurgency by allowing the militants to control the FM bands to promote hatred against the State and use the FM stations for command and control systems. One could go on with the stupidity being shown in this battle My frined Andrew garfield former Director War Studies Kings College London University is one of the foremost authorities on counter insurgency he has written a thesis basd on study of 26 insurgencies in the world. Guess what we can';t find a single person in Pakistan to read this thesis why because everyone is concentrating on conceding more Pakistani territory Maybe u could read the thesis and meet Andrew when he visits Pakistan first week June pls send me the email address and we will send u the thesis and pls send yr contact detals to set up an appointment with Andrew The question I have for us is this:since most of the weapons and reinforcements are coming in from abroad especially fro the CIS States we should have a first strike policy towards th CIS states to start with and then expand the first strike to regain our territory await y
