Nasim Zehra is a prominent expert on national security and development strategy in South Asia. In this capacity she leads the risk and security assessment activities of Renaissance Energy Consultants projects and serves as the key liaison for South Asia-based projects. Previously Ms. Zehra was a Partner at Development and Research Consultants Pvt Ltd (DRC) a local management and economic development consulting firm based in Islamabad Pakistan. She led several government and corporate-sponsored development initiatives and projects serving as the overall strategist and team lead. Ms. Zehra comes to REC with an extensive background on national security strategy and international diplomacy in Pakistan. She was an Associate Fellow of the Asia Society and a Fellow of Harvard University Asia Center and was previously an adjunct Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington DC. Ms. Zehra has served on Pakistans Presidential Advisory Committee on Foreign Policy and National Security from 2000-2002. In 2005 Ms. Zehra was appointed as Pakistans Special Envoy on UN Reforms. Beyond her consulting engagements Nasim writes extensively on international relations and national security for newspapers in South Asia and is currently working on her book: From Kargil to the Coup: 40 Days that Shook Pakistan. Ms. Zehra received an M.A.L.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston Massachusetts and an MBA from Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad Pakistan.
