In 27th match of ICCWorld T20 2014, Pakistan beat hosts Bangladesh convincingly by 50 runs inMirpur. After beating Bangladesh eventually Pakistan booked a quarter virtualquarter final against West Indies on April 1st, 2014.

Earlier Pakistan captain MuhammadHafeez won the toss and elected to bat first and made one change for thismatch. Pakistan brought in left arm seamer Sohail Tanvir for Bilawal Bhatti whoconceded 36 runs in 2 overs against Australia. Pakistan openers Ahmed Shehzadand Kamran Akmal started aggressively and scored 42 runs in first over. Afterthen Bangladesh came back in to the match strongly by picking up three keywickets of Pakistan in a quick succession of Kamran Akmal, Muhammad Hafeez andUmar Akmal. After this short debacle Pakistani pair Ahmed Shehzad and ShoaibMalik put a strong partnership of 83 runs on just 50 balls and at the endShahid Afridi’s small cameo helped Pakistan to lift their total to 190-5 inallotted 20 overs.

Ahmed Shehzad became a first Pakistani batsman to score a century in T20 internationals scored 111 runs on 62 balls with the help of 10 fours and 5 sixes and declared player of the match.Other prominent scorers from Pakistan are Shoaib Malik with his 26 on 23 balls and Shahid Afridi with his cameo of 22 of just 9 balls. Abdur Razzak was the best bowler of Bangladesh who picked up 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs.Mashrafe Mortaza was the most expensive bowlers conceded 63 runs without any wicket in his 4 overs.

Bangladesh started their innings slowly with Tamim Iqbal and Anamul Haque to chase down a massive total of 191 in 20 overs. Bangladesh put up an opening partnership of 30 runs before started losing wicket in regular intervals. In whole innings of Bangladesh they never look threatening to Pakistan. The highest partnership of Bangladesh innings was between Shakib Al Hassan and Nasir Hossain of 44 runs on 35 balls. Shakib AlHassan was the top scorer of Bangladesh who scored 38 runs of 32 balls. Otherprominent scorers for Bangladesh were Nasir Hossain and Anamul Haque with their 23 runs and 18 runs respectively. Umar Gul was the most successful bowler ofPakistan by taking 3 wickets for 30 runs in his 4 overs
