LAHORE: Former Test middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf is interested in coaching the Afghanistan cricket team in place of Inzamam-ul-Haq, if he is offered suitable terms and conditions by the Afghanistan Cricket Association (ACA).

The post has been lying vacant since Inzamam left it last month and took charge of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s national selection committee.

Yousuf’s agent has applied for his appointment as Afghanistan coach and is in negotiation with the authorities.

Though the Afghanistan is also showing interest in hiring an Indian for the job, it may lend a careful ear to outgoing coach Inzamam’s advice.

This is also a known fact that the ACA is not happy with Inzamam’s decision of leaving their job in mid way.
