LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday thanked the people of Azad Kashmir for voting for PML-N and said that the party had obtained a record mandate in the province.

In a statement issued from Lahore, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the people of Kashmir had reposed their trust and belief in the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He stated that the people of Kashmir had chosen the politics of transparency.

Shahbaz also said that the people of Kashmir had rejected negative politics by exercising their power of vote. He said that PML-N would make new records in public service and that those who had usurped billions of rupees, should read the writing on the wall.

PML-N emerged victorious after a landslide victory in the recently-held Azad Kashmir elections. The ruling party managed to secure 31 seats as the PPP and Muslim Conference trailed by securing 3 seats each and the PTI managed to win only 2 seats.

Earlier, PTI chief Imran Khan had also congratulated PML-N over their decisive victory in the Azad Kashmir elections via a message on Twitter.
