ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday, asked Azad Kashmir President Chaudhry Abdul Majeed to tender his resignation from the post of presidency after the party's recent humiliating loss in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.

It is pertinent to mention that yesterday, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Azad Kashmir’s session was held under the leadership of former prime minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed in which he was criticized by party members for the real cause of defeat in the elections.

Majeed said, "If party members believe that I am the reason for the defeat, then I am ready to resign from the post of President".

PPP managed to secure only 3 seats while PML-N emerged as the single largest party in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections by winning 31 seats out of the 41 members Legislative Assembly.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf also managed to secure only two seats in the recently-held Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections of 2016.
