After making some amendments to the rules of awarding contracts, the former captain Younis Khan has been promoted to the A category.

The press release issued by the PCB on Wednesday stated that the Chairman of the PCB has added a clause in the rules that the cricketer that has played more than 300 games in all three formats and has captained the team in all three formats would be awarded an A category contract.

Younis Khan has played 89 test matches, 253 ODIs and 25 T20s and has captained the team in all three formats. He also has the win of the World T20 to his credit.

According to Najam Sethi, the committee that included Moin Khan, Zakir Khan and Mohammad Akram did a good job in making rules, but, they failed to cover all the issues, especially the fitness and past performances of the players.

Many former cricketers criticized the decision of giving the B category contract to the icon player and Younis Khan himself refused to sign it.

As per the reports suggest, the PCB officials tried their best to convince Younis and to sign it before Najam Sethi made the amendment.
