KARACHI: Following clamour from PTI to make polling process fair and transparent, the emir of Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq has also come up with a demand for installation of biometric system for by-polls in National Assembly constituency (NA-246) in Karachi, ARY News reported.

The installation of biometric system for mere 2,00,000 voters is not an unattainable task, he said while talking to media.

The JI chief bemoaned that political workers were deployed as polling officers at polling stations.

He demanded that list of presiding officers of the by-polls should be provided to his party. “We want to play a ‘match’ in NA-246 in the peaceful atmosphere,” said Haq.

He was of the view that Pakistan was largely threatened by ‘corruption in politics’.
