Pir Mazhar accused of massive illegal hiring

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has informed the Sindh High Court (SHC) that former education minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq is involved in illegal hiring on thousands of slots in Sindh education department, Samaa reported Wednesday

The NAB claimed it in an investigation report submitted to the court today.

The SHC was hearing a petition of EDO Mumtaz Ali regarding his alleged involvement in irregularities in Sindh education ministry.

Report of the anti-corruption institution states that Pir Mazhar, a senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party leader, is directly involved in unlawful recruitment of 13,000 people during his tenure as provincial education minister.

The report said Pir Mazhar violated all rules and regulations for recruiting 13,000 persons in connivance with EDO Mumtaz Ali, adding that further investigations were underway and proofs have been gathered.

The court later adjourned the case till March 16, directing NAB officials to come up with written evidences in the next hearing.
