The former president is expected to meet the Pakistani media persons on Thursday afternoon.
Talking to reporters at his hotel in Manhattan, former interior minister Rehman Malik said he was summoned to New York by the former president for consultations. “I gave him the big picture of the political situation evolving in the country”.
Mr Malik said Mr Zardari and Bilawal would try and rejuvenate the Pakistan Peoples Parrty in Punjab and KP.
Asked about a resolution moved in Punjab Assembly on the issue of extension of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif’s tenure, Malik said you can ask him (Mr Zardari) when you met him on Thursday.
Mr Zardari has avoided meeting journalists for quite some time but now on the insistence of his former interior minister he has agreed to have a press talk.
