Born on October 23, 1946 in Jacobabad, Sindh, Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani is politically affiliated with PPPP. He was previously elected to the National Assembly in 1997 and to the Senate in 1988. He also served as Federal Minister for Defence (1993), Federal Minister for Health, Special Education and Social Welfare, Housing and Works, Environment and Urban Affairs (1988), and Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Religious Affairs and Minorities Affairs (1990). He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh twice (1974 and 1977).
A lawyer and agriculturist by profession, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani completed an LL.B from Sindh Muslim Law College, Karachi, and an MA from University of Karachi in 1970. Married with two sons and three daughters, he has travelled to the U.S.A, U.K and China. His hobbies are hunting, reading, poetry and listening to music.
