Aliya Nazki is a young TV presenter of BBC’s Urdu Program Sairbeen, Aliya got the job in BBC soon after she moved to London after finishing her studied in Delhi. She doesn’t refuse to admit that this job happened to her as a favour of luck. Before moving to anchoring she worked as an interactive and video producer with BBC for seven years. Aliya was born in Kashmir and raised at places like Jammu, Delhi and Ludhiana. Having her basic education from Kashmir she spent most of life outside. After her schooling Aliya moved to Delhi University to get a degree in English Honours and then to Jawaharlal Nehru University for her Masters in International Relations. Fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi, news anchor Aliya Nazki’s presentation style in the BBC Urdu programme, Sairbeen, won her the prestigious AGAHI Award 2013 for Emerging Current Affairs Anchor of the Year. After a short break off air, the programme hosted by Nazki along with seasoned broadcaster, Shafi Naqi Jamie is now re-launching in a new format, available online and to be broadcast on Aaj Tv.
