An important political figure of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed was born on December 15, 1952 in Malakot area of Abbottabad. He graduated from Sir Syed School Rawalpindi and later had his Bachelors degree in Legislation and Law (LL.B) and practiced as lawyer in Rawalpindi courts before joining his father’s clothing business. His uncle Sardar Sarfaraz Khan tipped Sardar Mehtab as politician and he was elected Member of the Provincial assembly first time in 1986. Mehtab Khan won all elections except in 2002, though it could not block his way to the Parliament as he was elected Member of the Senate in 2003. He became 22nd Chief Minister of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on February 21, 1997 and served in the office till October 12, 1999. He also held offices of provincial minister health, law and parliamentary affairs while served as federal minister for Kashmir affairs and Northern areas. Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa The president of pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain, on the advice of the Prime Minister, Nawaz sharif apppionted him as governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, province of Pakistan.He took oath of the office of the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 15 April 2014 in Peshawar.
