Ratings
We need a group of good men who would haul Pakistan out of its present demise. Corruption
is rampant in the high and low of Pakistani politics and the demon of greed has
manifested itself in all its glory. Is a new world possible? It will take time and
consistency of action but yes we believe it is, if you are willing to take that
first step. Most developing nations are not immune to rogue elements which are a
part and parcel of all societies, disinfect yours. Identify the pests putrefying
your nation.
You may think your rating or vote is immaterial to the outcome. Casting your vote
and throwing your one in 7,000,000 opinions in a hat might seem like a completely
pointless exercise. Do it for the simple reason that ‘the more people who vote the
greater the chance of a happy result’ provided of course that you vote for the superior
candidate.
The ancient Greeks had a word for individuals who were indifferent to public affairs;
‘idiotes’ or ‘idiot’. Don’t be one! Give your rating now.
Your vote is your voice and there is more power in it then in most things you do.
It is a lost pleasure, the power of that voice. Use it. It should make no difference
if that one comment does not carry the decisive power, but it will resound in Pakistan.
Raise your voice for an independent judiciary; rule of law and social justice, rake
over coals the renegades and traitors. Choose your heroes, salute them, and help
them help you!
You decide on the ratings. Put them on top of the pedestal or cast away their pennants.
Give your ratings, yours approvals and your reprimands. They would be welcomed and
computed without dilution.
‘Good judgment comes from experience and experience comes from bad judgment’
The state of being accountable and the obligation to bear the consequences for failure
to perform as expected, more often then not carries a positive effect. Therefore,
the ratings of an individual or an institution can change over time from bad to
good or conversely from good to bad. As public opinion changes, so does the rating.
However, a record is kept for adjudging performances in the long run and for helping
you choose better leaders.
